Sick Day

Today was a day of rest. Well, kinda. I had to miss my morning class as I was still really drowsy from nyquil and I had a mild fever. I then proceeded to spend the day being awake for approximately two hours and then sleeping for one. And I'm still exhausted. I had a joint birthday party to go to this evening, and I only managed to stay for a little over an hour and a half. I was nearly falling asleep in the chairs.

While I was getting ready for the party I thought of my mom and the Christmas Parties growing up. There were a few times she felt so sick and yet she'd pull herself together and come down the stairs looking gorgeous. I attempted to do the same. Putting on my make up also reminded me of make up shopping with my mom when I was younger. I still have (yes, I know you're not supposed to keep make-up this long) some make up she bought me in high school. We used to go over to the Channel counter and look at the season's latest colors. I loved the compacts with four eye shadows in them. She was the coolest as she let me buy the craziest colors. I found one tonight that had a citrus-y green with a sparlkly purple, a goldy-orange and one other shade I can't remember.

I'm torn between hoping it's just bad allergies and hoping it's a real cold. If it's a real cold, I'll be able to recover by Monday just fine. If it's allergies, I'm at the whim of the ragweed count. I don't remember it hitting me this hard last year. I attempted to go to sleep a few minutes ago and had to get back up because I was having trouble breathing. My chest feels like someone is sitting on it. What's really a bummer is there's no one here to take care of me. I called Mr. B and he recommended buying an air purifier tomorrow and using it at night while I sleep. Although he said if I continued having trouble breathing to head to the urgent care or hospital. I'm NOT doing that. So I have my hot tea (Lemon Zinger) and I've popped my allergy meds. I tried eating some tomatoes (love love love cherry tomatoes) but they burned my throat too much so now they're just sitting there laughing at me. I will eat you soon cherry tomatoes!

Here's hoping the kitties are good tonight...or that the allergy meds knock me out so much that even if they're bad I won't notice. I do hope to be more productive tomorrow. I have things to do! Outlines! Reading! Grocery store! Laundry! (all the glamorous things in life)
