What Waco Needs:

This is not a complete list, just things that have come to me today.

1. A Barnes and Noble.
Or another major bookstore. I'm not picky. The largest bookstore here is a Hastings...and it really just doesn't cut it.

2. Thundercloud or Potbelly's.
We have Quiznos (if I'm going to eat a sandwich I want it to feel healthy, sorry Quiznos, just not a fan) and Subway. Neither is doing it for me.

3. Some sort of shopping establishment on the east side of 35. And I mean shopping other than food/grocery/gas. Because that's it and honestly, it's a campus! Show me something else. Waco, get over the tornado from the 50s and move back over near where your people with money to spend live: Campus.

4. Central Market (or Whole Foods...but I don't think this town has the kind of person who will shop at whole paycheck)
Waco has numerous crappy HEBs and then all kinds of ghetto corner stores. Give me a place with a selection and quality goods for the love of god!!! And HEB, what give with your milk? My Randalls near my old house had Horizon organic milk of all varieties and none of them were going to expire within the week. HEBs everywhere seem to have the problem of not offering longer expiration dates on their milk. I'm willing to pay 30 cents more for my milk because I don't drink a whole half gallon in a week! Come on man! You're killing me...just killing me.

5. A liquor store near campus.
I know. I sound like a drunk, but honestly this is more just to make the campus feel normal to me than anything else. What the hell is going on with this town? People are always out boozing it up, but I only know of one liquor store. What gives Waco?

6. ATM on/near campus (meaning east of 35)
now there might be an ATM in the area, but I sure as hell don't know about it. The only Wells Fargo ATMs (there are two) are on the west side (naturally) and they're far south.

Summation:
Waco- Get over the tornado!! Move some of your stuff back to the lively part of town. I keep hearing people saying that there has been progress in Waco. Bull Shit Waconians! You guys consider the slow, snail paced, 50 year natural evolution of an area progress, and I'm sorry, but it's not. Come on guys! Shake it up some.
