Struggles of a Sony

The little hamster in my laptop is either having a mid-life crisis or is circling death with a long Shakespearean speech. This is the first quarter I've been allowed my laptop in all my classes and I'm taking full advantage of this ability. My poor Sony doesn't seem so thrilled. I'm not sure if it's the result of being dropped this summer by my roommate, or if it's at the end of the road, or if it's just being fussy and will be fine. Hard to tell. I do know that it's making quite loud noises. So loud that a friend of mine remarked after class that she thought it was my cell phone vibrating (she sits in the row behind me, several seats away).

Nearly had a heart attack today when I opened the laptop and it gave me an error message and froze. Not all my notes!! Granted it's only the second week of school, but I still have nearly 20 pages of notes for most of my classes. And there's other stuff on that baby, but my notes would be a tragic loss.Luckily, although oddly, it shut itself down and restarted. Everything seemed fine.

So I fear it might be time to hand my little Sony over to the guys in the tech department. This is terrifying. It's like handing over your car to some guy in the ghetto who says he can fix things real cheap...not really sure what happens while the laptop is gone, but you've heard horror stories about things never working right again.

Hopefully they'll be able to tell me why it's buzzing. And hopefully they won't do something crazy like wipe the hard-drive. (oh the stories. I mean, these guys are professionals...but they're still tech guys..working at a school).

So here's to you little Sony. I hope you're just having a rough time in your life and not coming to terms with the end of your life. It would be so cruel if you were snatched away at the very time you finally are able to shine.

ps: yep..a little tired. Darn these allergies/sinus infection. (I'm hoping for the former)
