So I realized I need to update my blog about the jaunty and delightful Monty.
Let me set the mood: last final over on a Friday, driving 1 hr 45 min back to Austin. 1st stop: Vet.
Monty and Sam both needed their annual shots so I figured this would be the best time as the vet is in North Austin. So, Sam weighs 9lbs, as does Taz. Monty, however, is 19lbs 4oz. Now before people freak too much, the vet only wants him to lose 4lbs, so it's not like he's suppose to be the size of Sam. I had noticed Monty had gained some weight since the move, but didn't realize he'd gained this much. According to the vet, the going theory is as follows: 1)Monty has not been happy about moving 2)When Monty is unhappy/anxious, Monty eats. So following the vet's instructions I have new diet food for Monty and a air diffuser that, get this, diffuses kitty pheromones. Kitty Pheromones make kitties happy. Usually these diffusers are used for cats that are having trouble with spraying everywhere. So, $45 later, I have this diffuser.
Now that you are up to date, the title's subject may be expanded. Having moved from a house to an apartment, I'm pretty much screwed when I get that urge to garden. Or so I thought. Since Monty is having some 'issues' (I personally think he has more subscriptions than I do), I thought it might help if he could look at the window and see foliage instead of apartment buildings. In Austin he usually gets to stare into trees. So today I went to Lowes and bought 8 plants (several small, one tree, some grassy things). While it looked like a lot in my car, it doesn't look so regal on the deck, but I figure it's a great start to what I hope will help my urge to garden and help Monty's anxiety. Plus it makes the once empty deck look much prettier.
Now to homework. Mr. Monkey is pleasantly surprised to not be too overwhelmed by incoming filings, but he knows the downpour will be begin soon. Enjoy it while it lasts Mr. Monkey.
