Don't Worry, It Matches

Let's see. I didn't write yesterday. Yesterday was a bit tiring. I remembered why I never take I-35 when traveling from one side of Austin to the other. Mopac is far superior there. A semi-truck attempted to crush me between Temple and Waco. I attended a meeting at my school for an organization I'm in, then I turned around, drove back and had dinner with Mr B's grandparents. That was yesterday.

Today I ate lunch with my mom and then when to Sephora with her. She got some cool eye shadow that I think she looks good in. I got a new grey color and some lip gloss. Then I met up with an old friend I hadn't seen in six months and discussed life. We were supposed to do pilates, but couldn't manage to stop talking. It was really wonderful. I'd missed her a lot and we just spent two hours catching each other up on everything! I look forward to seeing her each week this summer. Then my roommate and myself went for an hour long to hour and a half bike ride. It was positively lovely and we finished it off by washing our cars.

Neither one of us had washed our cars in quiet some time. It's not really a priority when in law school. It was great fun to clean them up. She waxed hers. I shined up the wheels on mine. My poor poor wheels. They really need to be cleaned once a week with the insane amount of brake dust that gathers on them.

I finally managed to finish weeding the front beds and I even planted one native plant in one of the beds. It's a start. I began to feel a little guilty because the grass was coming back in, so I mowed into dusk. To finish off my domestic evening, I finished priming the hallway. Mr B, my roommate, and I worked on covering over all the orange. It really brightened it up. B took great delight in teasing me for my inability to finish household projects in a timely manner. Thus, once he'd left, my roommate and I put the actual paint color up and cleaned up for the evening. There was slightly concern as we applied the color. When I'd gone to buy more paint for the hallway (to match the living room) they'd had to look the color up because it was no longer out as a color chip. The color we were applying looked very yellow next to the color in the living room. Luckily as it dried, it proved to be the same! A match! I'll check it tomorrow, but I think because of the two coats of primer, the one coat of color will be enough. It looks great!

So there it is. My day. Wondering how Mr Monkey and the chickens are doing? Well Mr Monkey has taken a small vacation. The chickens seem to be amusing themselves without escaping. Mr Monkey returns Monday to resume his post, but for now he's out. So far no postcards. He didn't leave word as to where he was going. He just counted up what he had coming (he's quiet lucky you see, his vacation rolls over each year...too bad he only gets one day per year of service) and left. His slippers are still by his chair, waiting for his return.
