Today I went to the gym for the first time since I've been back up here. I'm a member at Golds, and while I'm not a huge Golds fan, I'm impressed by some of their classes. I miss my Lifetime from Austin. Alas, there is no Lifetime here.
So Ladies, here's the deal. Try a cardio combat class. Golds has one, I'm pretty sure Lifetime does too. It totally kicked my butt, yet it was awesome! I hit the wall at one point and felt totally shitty. Then the instructor was telling us to keep fighting and man if I didn't fight as if I was actually beating the crap out of someone. I haven't been too stressed this week, but I can tell on stressful weeks this is going to be great! The combination of kicking and punching and cardio really made my whole body sore, but in that good way. I felt it was safe to let the crazed chickens out while I was in this class. I even got angry. At what? I don't know. But I punched and kicked like I was furious! Such a healthy release!!
So go! Do this. Every lady needs too. And guys too I guess.
As I was in there kicking some invisible ass, I thought of my mom as she was 10-15 years ago. Turbo. I thought of Turbo and I pictured her in there kicking all our asses at this combat thing. Turbo would be like the ninja in the room. With all her health problems, and just being 10-15 years older, I know she wouldn't be able to do the class like she could of as Turbo, but a piece of me knows that she will be able to again some day. She's a fighter. Kick some ass mom. It feels great!
